About

Justus (Ju) is a Ph.D. student at BHT Berlin, working within a DFG-funded project Appl-FM where he focuses on continual and few-shot learning with foundation models. He's also part of the team behind SWAMBIT (Shared Workspace and Memory for Brain-Inspired Transformers) which investigates modular, brain-inspired AI architectures. Before his Ph.D., he spent two and a half years as a Predeveloper at GRIMME, working with sensor technology, computer vision, and machine/reinforcement learning in the automation technology team. He holds a Master's and Bachelor's in Mathematics with a Computer Science minor from the University of Münster, and tutored undergraduate math courses there for over three years. He's also an active member (previously Vice President, July 2024–July 2025) of BLISS e.V., Berlin's non-profit AI community, where he organizes the AI Speaker Series.
